Obituary of Diane (Steele) McNeil

Diane (Steele) McNeil Glace Bay, N.S. It is with great sadness, that we the family, announce the passing of our Mother and friend, Deborah Diane (Steele) McNeil on February 12th, 2024, at the CBRH. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late John R and Deborah (Littlewood) Steele. Diane’s passions in life were, playing darts, listening to music, singing Karaoke, having a good laugh and being surrounded by family. She was employed as a seamstress at CB Tartan for many years as well as worked at The Quality Dairy. She then made the decision to go back to school and graduated, with honors, as a LPN in 1999. She worked at the GBGH until she retired and spent the rest of her days surrounded by family and friends while looking after her father, whom she loved dearly, until his passing. Diane is survived by her sons, John R (Amber) McNeil, Michael (Natalie) McNeil; daughters, Lee Steele and Jamie (Dennis) McNeil; grandchildren, Quinlan, Lucy, Brandon, Hannah, Maddex, Junior, Raine and Van. Along with her parents, Diane was predeceased by her best friend and sister Joanne Steele. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199. As per Diane’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation. Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
