Joan Elizabeth (Farrow) McNeil Gardiner Mines, Nova Scotia I, Joan Elizabeth, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by my family on May 2, 2024, after a short bout with a rare cancer. I was born in Gardiner Mines on November 9, 1958, to the late Greg and Molly (Waidson) Farrow. Left to mourn my death and celebrate my life are: my beloved daughter Amanda (the light of my life); my beloved partner Kevin (the love of my life); my loving siblings Diane (Rannie), Wayne (Peggy), Lynn (Kevin), Paul (Jeannie), Ann (David), Michelle (Victor); my dear nieces and nephews; my adorable grand nieces and nephews; my two special goddaughters Beth and Meghan. At my request, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place with burial to take place in St. James Cemetery, Gardiner Mines, under the direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at the Cape Breton Cancer Centre, Palliative Care and the VON. Donations in my memory can be made to St. James Cemetery, Cape Breton University Library (to support student mental health initiatives/de-stress area) or the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation (Cancer Centre or Palliative Care).
